Tyres
Switch from winter to summer tyres when night temperatures stay above +7°C (usually April in Estonia). Check summer tyre condition: tread depth must be at least 1.6 mm, ideally 3+ mm.
Wipers and Windscreen
Winter wiper blades have stiffer rubber and wear faster in summer. Swap to standard blades in spring. Check the windscreen for chips and cracks — a small crack expands in summer heat.
Battery
Winter drains batteries hard. After a tough winter, test the voltage — below 12.2 V when fully charged means a weakened battery. Better to catch it in spring than be stranded later.
Coolant
Check the coolant level and antifreeze concentration with a refractometer — protection should reach at least -25°C.
Underbody and Bodywork
Estonian roads use a lot of salt — this accelerates rust. Get an underbody wash and check for rust. Wash the bodywork thoroughly to remove salt residue.
