Main Bulb Types
- H1 — single filament, used for high beams and fog lights
- H4 — dual filament (low + high beam), most common on older cars
- H7 — single filament, popular on European cars since the 2000s
- Xenon (HID) — bright white-blue light, requires a ballast unit
- LED — low energy use, long lifespan, only legal with E-mark certification
Estonian Legal Requirements
In Estonia (and across the EU), only ECE-homologated bulbs are permitted. LED conversion kits for halogen sockets are legal only if the kit carries an E-mark. Without it, your car will fail the technical inspection (tehnoülevaatus).
Practical Tip
Always replace bulbs in pairs — this keeps lighting even and prevents the second bulb from failing shortly after.
Find the exact bulb for your car by VIN in the VINParts catalogue. Viktor can help you choose a legally approved option.
